- PERFORM NECESSARY DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND ADVISE:
- FOUND: I inspected the vehicle and verified the client's concern that the check engine light is illuminated and that there is a drivability issue present. I retrieved diagnostic trouble codes p0015 and p0017, which indicate there's an intake camshaft position fault. Based on scan data received during testing, I suspect the timing chain has stretched. Removal of the timing cover for further inspection will be required. Recommend removing the timing cover for further inspection. In addition, I found code p0299 present for the bank one turbocharger. This code indicates a performance fault with the boost produced by the number one turbo, which was most likely caused by the valve timing issue. Recommend reevaluating the condition of the turbo after the valve timing issue is addressed. –customer declined repairs and traded the truck in
