  • PERFORM NECESSARY DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND ADVISE:
  • FOUND: I inspected the vehicle and confirmed the client's concern that there are codes present in multiple modules. The commonality between these codes and the modules is the low-voltage condition that was present. I performed the necessary diagnostic testing on the vehicle electrical system and found the alternator output is erratic. The battery is unable to hold a sufficient charge, is leaking and the terminals are significantly corroded. Recommend replacing the battery, alternator and positive battery terminal.
  • FOUND:
  • Inspect the tire PSI and Inflate to Proper Specifications Front __35___PSI Rear___35__PSI
  • DISASSEMBLE, REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY, BATTERY AND POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE TERMINAL END, REASSEMBLE, TEST FOR PROPER OPERATION.
  • I performed the recommended repairs to the vehicle charging system and was able to test drive the vehicle. During the test drive I found the engine coolant temperature is erratic as described by the client. I performed the necessary diagnostic testing and found that there is poor coolant circulation. I suspect the thermostat has failed. We recommend replacement of the thermostat.
  • I replaced the thermostat and found cooling system circulation has been restored. I again attempted to test drive the vehicle and found the coolant temperature varies from 220 to 250 degrees back and forth. I monitored the engine coolant temperature with a thermal scanner and found this coolant temperature is stable. I continued the inspection and down the coolant temperature sending unit has failed. I replaced the sending unit, test drove the vehicle monitoring the coolant temperature on the scanner and found the coolant temperature is stable. At this time the cooling system operational is nominal.

  • PERFORM NECESSARY DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND ADVISE:
  • FOUND:I inspected the vehicle and confirmed the client's concern that the check engine light is illuminated and there is an intermittent extended crank symptom present. I retrieved diagnostic trouble code P0638 which indicates there is an internal electrical correlation fault between the amperage draw required to open the throttle plate and the throttle position that is measured via the throttle position sensor. This is an indication of an internal binding issue or mechanical fault with the throttle body.
