- ROADTEST TO DUPLICATE THE DESCRIBED SYMPTOMS AND CONDITIONS, INSPECT THE FLUID LEVEL AND CONDITION, ADJUST THE FLUID LEVEL IF REQUIRED, INSPECT EXTERNAL ADJUSTMENTS AND READJUST IF NEEDED, REROADTEST TO MONITOR OPERATIONS AND ADVISE: I inspected the vehicle and verified the client's concern that there is a transmission malfunction present. I inspected the transmission fluid level and condition and found the level is full however the fluid is burnt and discolored. I retrieved diagnostic trouble code p0731 which indicates the first gear ratio is incorrect. These are all indications of an internal transmission malfunction. Replacement of the transmission unit and programming will be required. Recommend replacing the transmission and Performing necessary programming.

- FOUND: I performed an initial inspection and found there is coolant leaking from the water pump assembly. Replacement of the water pump and inspection at the timing components will be required. Once the cooling system has been repaired a complete vehicle inspection can be performed, including a test drive. NOTE: PAUL IS GOING TO TOW THE FORD EDGE HOME TO SAVE FOR THE REQUIRED REPAIRS.
- THE CUSTOMER STATES COOLANT HAS BEEN ADDED EVERY COUPLE DAYS FOR A FEW WEEKS. THE LEAK IS FAIRLY SMALL.

- INSPECT AND ADVISE I performed a test drive and found the brake pedal travel to be normal. The brake linings are in spec at this time. Hydraulic brake hoses are intact with no signs of leaking/hoses swelling.
- FOUND: WE WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE DESCRIBED SYMPTOM AT THIS TIME. MONITOR AND ADVISE.
- INSPECT AND ADVISE: I performed a test drive but did not duplicate the customer described metallic battle type noise being present going over bumps. With the vehicle on the rack in the air I used a rubber mallet tapping around the exhaust system and undercarriage components and found no safety concerns at this time.
- Roadtest, inspect the integrity of the steering and suspension components, inspect the front and rear tires, inspect for excessive "play" in the wheel bearings and other related components, and advise: WE WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE NOISE AT THIS TIME. MONITOR AND ADVISE.
- INSPECT FOR LEAKS AND ADVISE:
- FOUND: There's evidence that the upper and lower radiator hoses were replaced sometime recently. I found coolant seeping from the upper radiator hose where is attaches to the radiator. Dripping down on the passenger side. I found coolant dripping from the lower radiator hose where it attaches to the thermostat outlet as well as the radiator attachment down below on the driver side. I manually adjusted/tightened these hose clamps. I installed a cooling system pressure tester and found the system to hold pressure at this time. Recommend monitor this condition regularly

- FOUND: I inspected the vehicle and verified the client's concern that the check engine light is illuminated and there is no significant drivabilty issue present. Preformed health check of vehicle and found dtc codes P0171 fuel system too lean bank 1, P0300 random misfire Found misfire coming from cylinders 1 and 3 wich are side by side on bank 1 Preformed inspection for any vacuum leaks and could not find any vacuum leaks, cleaned out MAF sensor. Preformed fuel pressure test and found 63psi of fuel pressure. The coolant level was found low. The customer states he has also been adding coolant. The cylinder head gasket is faulty or the cylinder head is cracked. The engine has 193,000 miles so a replacement engine is recommended for repair.
