    • THE CUSTOMER STATES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITH NO OBVIOUS SYMPTOMS. INSPECT AND ADVISE ON NEEDED REPAIR.
    • FOUND: I inspected the vehicle and verified the client's concern that the check engine light is illuminated and there is no significant drivability issue present. I retrieved diagnostic trouble code p000d which indicates there's a variable valve timing control fault with the left side exhaust camshaft phaser. I test drove the vehicle and verified cam response is slower than anticipated. I returned to the service bay and inspected the exposed portions of the wiring following the manufacturer's guidelines and found no indication of a fault with the control circuit. I suspect the oil control valve is intermittently sticking. Recommend removing the left valve cover for further inspection with anticipation of replacing the oil control valve for the left side exhaust camshaft phaser. Some of the services suggested during today's visit are based on time and milage. We have limited or no service history on this vehicle. Please verify the serivce history with the client, if possible.
