    • INSPECT AND ADVISE: I inspected the vehicle and confirmed the customers concern, that there is a intermittent clunking-type noise present from the rear of the vehicle.
    • Roadtest, inspect the integrity of the steering and suspension components, inspect the front and rear tires, inspect for excessive "play" in the wheel bearings and other related components, and advise: I inspected the front and rear suspension components and found that the RR rear sway bar link rod was slightly loose where it attaches to the rear sway bar on the RR corner. I retorqued both rear sway bar link rods, performed a second test drive and found the noise to be gone at this time.

    • FOUND: I inspected the vehicle and verified the clients concerned that the charging warning light illuminates after a brief. Of driving. I inspected the charging system and found there is no output from the alternator. I continued the inspection in regards to the alternator circuit and found there's no power being supplied to the alternator through the B+ lead. Further inspection found that the 150 amp bolt-in bus fuse has failed. This part is serviceable however it is integral to the underhood power distribution system and will require disassembly and reassembly. Recommend replacing the power fuse and reevaluating alternator operation.

    • FOUND: I inspected the vehicle and verified the client's concern that the check engine light is illuminated and there are misfire concerns present. I retrieved diagnostic trouble code P0300 which indicates there's a misfire concern on multiple cylinders. I retrieved diagnostic trouble code P0175 which indicates Bank 2 is running rich. I retrieved diagnostic trouble code P0171 which indicates Bank 1 is running lean. I retrieved diagnostic trouble code P0157 which indicates the Bank 2 downstream oxygen sensor switch rate is lower than anticipated. I performed the necessary diagnostic testing and found the Bank 2 rear oxygen sensor has failed. This failure is causing the PCM to cut off fuel to the Bank 2 fuel injectors which is causing the misfire concern. This is effecting fuel delivery to Bank 2 of the engine. Recommend replacing the oxygen sensor, resetting the adaptive fuel strategy and test driving the vehicle to address any additional concerns.

    • PERFORM NECESSARY DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND ADVISE:
    • FOUND:I inspected the vehicle and confirmed the client"s concern that the steering stability warning lamp is illuminated. I found code 5128 present in the ABS control module. This code indicates there is a steering wheel position signal bias level fault. I inspected the bias level and found that driving straight down the road the bias level is at -12 %. The steering wheel is off center. I inspected the steering and suspension components and found both lower ball joints have over .050 inches of lateral movement. Maximum allowable movement is .020. There does not appear to be any bent components. The right rear front lower control arm eccentric is in the maximum allowable rotational position. I put the vehicle on an alignment rack and pulled alignment readings and found the right front camber and caster is out of specification. There is enough adjustment present to reset the alignment to factory specifications once the ball joints have been replaced.
    • DISASSEMBLE, REPLACE THE LOWER BALL JOINTS, REASSEMBLE.
    • Rotate the tires front to rear to extend tire life.
    • Inspect and make required adjustments to set "toe", "caster", and "camber" to factory specifications on the front and rear suspension (where applicable). Alignment warranty requires tire rotations and checking tire pressure in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
