- PERFORM NECESSARY DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND ADVISE:
- FOUND: I inspected the vehicle and verified the client's concern that the check engine light is illuminated and there is no significant drivability issue present. I retrieved diagnostic trouble code P0456 which indicates there's an evaporative emission system leak present. I performed a detailed inspection of the fuel vapor system using electronic leak detection equipment and found the canister purge line has failed between the valve and the under vehicle piping. Replacement of the hose assembly will be required.
- I performed the recommended repair, cleared the code and retested the system. I found no indication of additional faults with the evaporative emission system at this time. During my post repair test drive I verified that the auto start system operation is nominal.
