THE CUSTOMER STATES THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WHEEL SOUNDS VERY LOUD LIKE A POSSIBLE FAULTY WHEEL BEARING. INSPECT AND ADVISE.
Roadtest, inspect the integrity of the steering and suspension components, inspect the front and rear tires, inspect for excessive "play" in the wheel bearings and other related components, and advise: Customer states that there is a wheel bearing like noise coming from the driver side. At this moment I confirmed that there is a noise coming from the passenger side. Upon my inspection of the suspension the driver side wheel bearing has play and requires replacement. Recommend replacing both wheel bearings. Also both axles no longer have Grease in them and have play. Recommend replacing both axles.
PERFORM NECESSARY DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND ADVISE: THE CUSTOMER REPLACED BOTH OXYGEN SENSORS ON BANK #1 AS WELL AS THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR AND DID NOT HELP WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FAULT.
FOUND: the check engine light has illuminated with no other symptoms. The customer replaced both oxygen sensors on bank one as well as a mass air flow sensor and did not help with the check engine light fault. The vehicle came in with DTC P0171 Bank 1 lean. My first started by test driving the vehicle and I noticed that the O2 sensors were compensating for the amount of air going into the engine meaning though two sensors at this moment are working the way they should. I then brought the vehicle into the shop and perform a smoke test on the entire vacuum system including the brake booster and at this moment and did not find any obvious leak. I then cleared the codes and performed an adaptive clear self learn. After clearing the self learn I performed an idle air volume learn. I test drove the vehicle and at this moment the fuel trims are back to normal. Clear self learn and perform. Idle air volume learn.
WE PERFORMED AN ENGINE IDLE RELEARN PROCEDURE TO RESET THE IDLE BACK INTO SPECIFICATIONS.
Inspect and make required adjustments to set "toe", "caster", and "camber" to factory specifications on the front and rear suspension (where applicable). Alignment warranty requires tire rotations and checking tire pressure in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
AXLE SHAFT ASSEMBLY – Remove & Install or Remove & Replace – Both Sides – [Includes: Replace Differential Output Seal.] – [NOTE: For Independent Suspension Type Axles, Axle Shaft Assembly consists of Axle Shaft, Boots and Joints.]
WHEEL BEARING – Remove & Replace – 4WD Front,Hub Assembly,Both Sides – [DOES NOT include wheel alignment.] – [Includes: Replace Inner and/or Outer Bearings, Cups, Seals and repack (where applicable).]
REMOVE & REPLACE FRONT CAMBER KITS ON BOTH FRONT WHEELS.
NOTE: THE REAR SHOCKS WERE SUPPLIED BY THE CUSTOMER.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STARTED RUNNING ROUGH. INSPECT AND ADVISE.
FOUND: I inspected the vehicle and verified the client's concern that the check engine light is illuminated and there is a significant drivability issue present. I retrieved diagnostic trouble code P0300 which indicates there are multiple cylinders misfiring. I performed necessary diagnostic testing and isolated the fault to the number three cylinder. I found the number three ignition coil has failed. Replacement of the ignition coil will be required.
